Nylon 66 Rod - Flame Retardant

Nylon 66 rod - flame retardant has mechanical properties similar to that of nylon 6 but with added flame retardancy. It fulfils the requirement of EN 45545-2, which is a standard specific to fire protection on railway vehicles.

Applications

Machined components such as cable holders, clamps and channels in the rail, aviation, shipbuilding, mining and electrical industries.

Key Features

• Temperature: -30°C up to +80°C (+170°C short term).
• Very high limiting oxygen index of 40% and is halogen free. 
• Good resistance to fatigue and wear.
• High mechanical strength and stiffness.
• Low moisture absorption.
• Easily machined.

Standards

• Fire rated to UL94-V0.
• Tested according to DIN EN 45545-2:2013 R24:HL3 and R26:HL3 for rail applications.
