Nylon 66 rod is a robust and highly machinable engineering plastic rod known for its exceptional wear and chemical resistance. Its high mechanical dampening effectively dissipates vibration energy while providing reliable electrical insulation. Nylon 66 is used in a wide range of industrial sectors and is often machined into components such as scrapers, friction bearings, gear wheels, and wear strips.
Nylon 66 rod offers greater mechanical strength, stiffness, and lower moisture absorption than the standard Nylon 6 rod. It also has good resistance to acids, creep, and temperature.
As a leading Nylon 66 supplier, we can offer a range of grades suitable for specific industries. These include natural, glass filled, and flame retardant variants.
Please follow the links below for further information about specific grades and to view standard availability.
Superior mechanical strength, stiffness, and heat resistance compared to standard nylon 6 rod. It is FDA approved for food contact applications. Nylon 66 rod has excellent rigidity, stability, and machinability. Temperature range of -30°C up to +95°C.
Glass filled to enhance strength, stiffness, wear and creep resistance. Greater dimensional stability compared to standard grades. Used for machining into OEM components, rollers, wheels, gears and more. Temperature range of -40°C up to +110°C.
Similar characteristics to nylon 6 rod, with added flame retardancy. Meets EN 45545-2 standards for railway fire protection. Ideal for components in rail, aviation, and electrical industries. UL94-V0 rating. Temperature range of -30°C up to +80°C (+170°C short term).
