Glass based laminates (sometimes referred to as SRBG's or synthetic resin bonded glass) are manufactured using high pressure laminating techniques combining glass base materials with a range of synthetic resins. Most commonly used for their exceptional electrical insulating properties, glass based laminates also display high mechanical strength, excellent chemical resistance and low moisture absorption.
SRBG's are typically much denser than fabric and paper based counterparts and provide better temperature stability, lower smoke emissions, lower toxicity and a degree of flame retardancy. B30 and B32 are also LUL (London Underground Limited) approved making them suitable for London Underground use.
As with all laminates, their rigidity means they can be processed using in-house machinery typically used to convert engineering plastic materials. This includes CNC milling, CNC sawing, routing, drilling and turning. Full sheets and cut pieces can also be supplied if required.
