Sigma® 511 is a high performance, biaxially orientated PTFE based material containing a silica filler. The material provides standard compressibility, is WRAS approved for potable water applications and complies with EC regulation on materials intended to come into contact with food stuffs. Sigma® 511 is particularly suited for sealing applications involving strong acids, such as sulphuric in all concentrations, and to general chemicals, but is not suitable for use with hydrofluoric, molten alkali metals, fluorine gas or hydrogen fluoride.
At PAR Group, we have the machining capabilities to covert Sigma® 511 into any standard table size flange gasket, bespoke gasket or picture frame gasket. If you require further information on how to measure your gasket, please view our online guide on 'How to Measure a Gasket'. We have created a comparison table to compare the Novus™ and Sigma® gasket materials we supply, please click here.
GYLON® 3500 and Top-Chem 2000 gasket materials are available from PAR should an alternative material be required. Sigma® 511 is available to buy online by the sheet at PAR Direct by clicking the link above.
Suitable for sealing applications across the whole pH range of 0-14 (except molten alkali metals, fluorine gas, hydrogen fluoride and hydrofluoric acid).
*Other sheet sizes/thicknesses are available upon request, but may be subject to longer lead times.
We may supply the Klinger® alternative material.
Note: Maximum temperature and pressure should not be used at the same time. All values are dependent on application, please refer to the data sheet below.
