Spiral Wound Gaskets

Spiral Wound Gasket - Carbon Steel Outer Ring  Spiral Wound Gasket - Stainless Steel Outer Ring

Spiral wound gaskets (commonly referred to as metaflex or maxiflex gaskets) consist of a pre-formed metallic winding strip with layers of softer, more compressible sealing material, such as graphite, compressed fibre or PTFE. They are designed to deliver exceptional performance in challenging conditions and the filler material gives the gasket the ability to recover under fluctuating loads. Spiral wound gaskets are a premium choice for a range of sealing needs and are engineered to handle high pressure and temperature conditions.

Applications

They are used in many industries, particularly within high pressure and high temperature sealing applications, such as heat exchangers, pipelines, flanges, and valves.

Key Features

  • Temperature: Up to +1000°C (dependent on material).
  • Provides outstanding performance over a wide range of media and temperatures including steam, chemicals, oils and hydrocarbons.

Availability

There are various types of spiral wound gaskets. We offer B16.20 Type CRIR as standard, available in a range of pressure classes and sizes. They consist of three main components: a carbon steel or stainless steel outer ring, a 316L stainless steel winding with graphite filler, and a 316L stainless steel inner ring. They can be purchased online at PAR Direct by clicking the red 'Buy Online' button above.
