Paper based laminates (sometimes referred to as SRBP's or synthetic resin bonded papers) are manufactured from stacked layers of paper impregnated with specially formulated synthetic resins. When bonded under elevated temperatures and pressure, the result is an economical, lightweight, thermoset composite with exceptional electrical insulation properties, good mechanical properties, and inherent rigidity.
Though paper laminates don't display the same impact strength or mechanical characteristics of fabric based equivalents, their superior electrical insulation and low water absorption properties render them better suited to high and medium voltage applications. SRBP's, especially B1 and B3, are particularly suited for use in environments of varying humidity or where they're likely to become immersed in oil.
Individual grades can be supplied as custom components, cut to size pieces or as full sheets depending on your requirement. Similarly to plastic materials, they can be machined in-house using traditional methods such as routing, drilling, milling and sawing. The majority of our equipment is CNC operated, ensuring tight tolerances and high accuracy.
You'll find application information, technical specifications and availability for each individual grade by clicking the 'view product' buttons below.
