PVC rod (unplasticised polyvinyl chloride) is a rigid engineering plastic that provides high mechanical strength, excellent resistance to chemicals and offers low moisture absorption. It is a good electrical insulator and has a class UL94 V-0 flammability rating, meaning the polymer will self-extinguish after removal of flame. PVC rod also complies with European Directive drinking water legislation 98/83/EC and is suitable for use with wholesome water. It is highly resistant to corrosion and is easy to machine, fabricate, weld and bond.
