Viton® rubber sheeting is a high specification fluoroelastomer that is suitable for demanding environments where elevated temperatures and chemicals are present. Viton® is able to retain its physical and mechanical properties, such as flexibility and fluid resistance, in situations where lesser specification elastomers begin to swell and break down. It displays excellent resistance to acids, oils and petroleum based products, making it a popular gasket and seal choice in the automotive, aerospace, oil and gas, and chemical processing industries.
Viton® can be supplied in two grades as standard: Type A and Type B. Both types have similar properties and resistances, but the increased fluorine content of type B (68.5% compared to type A's 66%) provides better fluid resistance, increased flexibility after heat ageing, and better sulfur dioxide resistance. As such, it is more frequently used in chemical processing and power generation applications.
Both types of Viton® rubber sheeting are available to buy online by clicking the 'buy online' button above.
Also available: Viton® rubber gaskets.
Please note that the above table is intended as a guide only. For more information regarding the compatibility of silicone rubber sheet with specific chemicals please see our chemical resistance chart.
If you require Genuine Viton® rubber sheeting please ensure you specify at the time of enquiry.
