Instantaneous fire couplings have a female spring loaded catch that clips behind the lip of the male fitting. The couplings provide a straightforward solution to connect many lengths of hose together and can be easily disconnected by twisting or pulling the release mechanism. Instantaneous couplings come with a 2½" nominal male and female bore head as standard and are manufactured in accordance with BS 336. They have a maximum working pressure of 16 Bar (232 psi) and are available with a variety of different sized hose tails, BSPP male and female threads, adaptors, end caps and plugs on the reverse.
At PAR, our range of fire hose couplings are supplied in either aluminium or gunmetal and are primarily used in water delivery applications by the British fire brigade and in agriculture. They are also utilised as an industrial hose coupling and are the fitting of choice on layflat hose assemblies. The double rib construction of the male and female hose tail allows for the use of wire binding, which ensures that a secure connection between the coupling and the hose is achieved.

Male instantaneous couplings to spigot tails are used to connect a length of hose or tubing to a female fire fitting. They are available with either a ½", ¾" or 1" serrated tail.
Male fire couplings to hose tails connect into a female fire fitting and provide a connection to a length of hose. They are available with hose tails ranging from 1½" up to 3".
Female instantaneous fire fittings to hose tails have two internal mechanisms that clasp to the lip of the male. They are available with hose tails ranging from 1" up to 3".
Male fire to male BSPP couplings provide a connection to a female instantaneous fitting and a female BSPP. They are available with male threads ranging from ¾" up to 3".
Male instantaneous to female BSPP couplings connect to a female fire fitting and a male BSPP thread. They are available with female threads ranging from ¾" up to 3".
Female fire to male BSPP couplings provide a connection between a male instantaneous fitting and a female BSPP. They are available with male threads ranging from 1" up to 3".
Female instantaneous to female BSPP fittings are used to affix a male fire coupling to a male BSPP. They are available with female BSPP threads ranging from ¾" up to 3".
Male to male fire couplings are designed to provide a connection between two BS 336 female fire fittings. They are available in a standard instantaneous size option of 2½".
Female to female fire adaptors have two spring mechanisms that clasp to the lips of two BS 336 male fire couplings. Available in a standard instantaneous size option of 2½".
Male fire to blank plugs connect to a female instantaneous fitting and are designed to seal off water supplies and prevent against dirt entering the connection. They are available in a standard instantaneous size of 2½".
Female fire to blank caps are available with either one or two spring mechanisms. They connect to a male fire fitting and are used to close off hoses or piping. Available in a standard size of 2½".
BS 336 male round thread to hose tails are for use with hoses with larger bores. They provide a connection between a female BS 336 thread and a length of hose. Available with threads and hose tails from 4" up to 5½".
BS 336 female round thread to hose tails affix to an equivalent sized male and provide a connection to larger bore sizes. They are available with hose tails and threads ranging from 4" up to 5½".
Replacement EPDM seals insert inside the female instantaneous coupling and create a watertight seal between the male fire fitting when connected. They are available in a standard size of 2½".
