Industrial laminates blurb
------------------------
Nylon 6 sheet is a common engineering plastic that offers high tensile strength, stiffness and good mechanical properties. It provides moderate resistance to chemicals, is electrically insulating and performs well when exposed to heat for prolonged periods. Nylon 6 is used in a broad range of engineering applications due to its general versatility and ease of machining.
At PAR Group, we have been manufacturing nylon 6 sheet for over 20 years and offer a selection of grades to suit specific industrial requirements. Utilising in-house nylon casting facilities we manufacture a range of nylon 6, which includes standard engineering grades for use in general purpose machining applications, cast oil filled grades that offer reduced co-efficient of friction and improved resistance to wear, and cast moly filled grades that provide higher load bearing properties.
In comparison to extruded grades, cast nylon 6 sheet is easier to machine and generally offers improved strength, a higher operating temperature and lower moisture absorption. Extruded alternatives are also available from PAR, and are commonly supplied when tighter tolerances or a thinner sheet thickness is required.
We also offer extruded metal detectable nylon 6 that is primarily used in food and pharmaceutical processing operations and flame retardant grades, in accordance with UL94 V-0, that are commonly machined into components such as cable holders, clamps and channels for use in the aviation and rail industries.
