Our range of engineering grade polycarbonate provides exceptional impact strength, very good dimensional stability and low moisture absorption. The material is a popular option due to its high heat deflection, electrical insulating and mechanical properties. Engineering grade polycarbonate also has a wide working temperature range and can be cut into bespoke shapes and sizes to meet customer requirements.
It's best used for machining into more complex components requiring the technical properties of standard polycarbonate. Engineering grade is also available in greater thicknesses making it best suited to heavy duty applications, unlike standard polycarbonate which is typically used in the manufacture of guards and screens.
Please note, due to this being an engineering grade polycarbonate it is not optically clear.
Primarily used in the electrical industry due to its insulating properties but can also be used in safety engineering, the automotive industry and in medical engineering. Best suited to technical applications over aesthetic due to its lack of optical clarity.
