Once again, we welcome the festive season and look to embracing its spirit of giving; the staff at PAR Group are saying "Bah Humbug!" to Christmas cards in favour of making a meaningful contribution to a local charity. This has been a much-loved PAR tradition.
As we did last year, we have decided to split donations across two charities that are local to each of the branches of PAR Group. Our first is Manchester & Cheshire Dogs Home, a charity that was founded back in 1893 by a group of businessmen in Manchester concerned with the number of stray dogs roaming the city. Since then, they have opened a Cheshire dog home, a specialist care unit and an adoption unit and are just as dedicated to their work as they were all those years ago.
Our second charity is one that we have raised funds for in the past. Lancashire Mind “is an independent mental health charity dedicated to improving the mental health and well-being of the people of Lancashire." They offer many different services for people across the district who may feel like they need support or advice on mental health matters.
Last year, the team's efforts raised £1,200, which the company then kindly doubled, making a total of £2,400. The total last year was split between Heywood Little Monkeys and Chorley Help the Homeless, who were both equally grateful to the staff and company for fundraising on their behalf.

Bah Humbug to Christmas Cards Campaign 2024 – Update
We are thrilled to share the fantastic results of our 2024 "Bah Humbug" to Christmas Cards campaign!
This year, our incredible staff raised an impressive £1880 through their generous donations. As promised, PAR Group matched this amount, bringing the total to a remarkable £3760.
These funds have been split between two amazing local charities: Manchester & Cheshire Dog’s Home, which provides care and second chances for dogs in need and Lancashire Mind, which supports mental health initiatives, we were also lucky enough to catch Lancashire Mind part-way through their BigGive Christmas fundraising - which meant that £506 of the £1880 donation was also matched, making a total of £2386.
A huge thank you to everyone who contributed and supported this campaign. Your generosity truly embodies the spirit of the season, helping to make a meaningful difference in our community.
