It's that time of year again, and in keeping with PAR tradition, our employees will say "Bah Humbug!" to Christmas Cards to instead contribute to meaningful local charitable causes.
This year we have decided to split all proceeds donated to two different charities that are local to both branches of PAR Group. The first is a charity we have a history of campaigning for. Chorley Help the Homeless are a small independent charity local to us here at PAR Group Preston. They help support those at risk or affected by being homeless within the Borough of Chorley. They offer a range of services such as free evening meals, housing advice and information, and a local food bank and are able to point service users in the best direction for help with similar issues from other agencies.
Our second chosen charity is another charity we have donated to before - Heywood Little Monkeys. Their "aim is to help disadvantaged children and families living in Heywood with everyday items most of us take for granted.” The charity works with families and social workers/caregivers to help provide for children in families that may need extra assistance. They are also able to offer guidance on where is best to seek help on a case-by-case basis.
Our annual charity drives have always been successful. Last year, our amazing staff managed to raise a total of £1,362 through donations, making a grand total of £2,724 once the company's donation match contribution had been taken into account. This year, we hope to raise £1,500 in donations to give us a grand total of £3,000. This would be a fantastic achievement in support of two very worthy causes.

Update
Our 'Bah Humbug!' to Christmas campaign has come to an end. We are so pleased to announce that the total staff contributions this year totalled £1,200 then as with each year before, the company have kindly doubled this, making this year's total £2,400.
We will split this evenly across both charities we have been fundraising for and hope that will go some way to help them.
