PVC Sheet

PVC Sheet

PVC sheet (polyvinyl chloride) is an economical thermoplastic that provides good rigidity, high mechanical strength and moderate electrical insulation properties. It is easy to machine and fabricate through the process of welding and bonding and is commonly used in applications where resistance to chemicals, moisture absorption, oxidation and ultraviolet light are paramount. Furthermore, unplasticised PVC offers good resistance to impact and is also classed as self-extinguishing due to its UL94 V-0 flammability rating.

When used within the stated operating temperature of 0°C up to +60°C, PVC sheet provides excellent longevity and is a popular option in the water processing, chemical and construction industries due to its strength and resistance to corrosive substances. Polyvinyl chloride is not, however, recommended for applications involving abrasion and the material can become brittle when subject to temperatures below freezing. PVC sheet also has a relatively low melting point in comparison to other engineering plastics.

Our manufacturing capabilities enable us to convert PVC sheet into a wide range of finished products utilising in-house CNC machinery. Common components manufactured from PVC include tank linings, chemical apparatus, plugs, battery separators and insulators.

PVC sheet is available to buy online in various colours, sheet sizes and thicknesses at PAR Direct by clicking the red 'Buy Online' link above. Alternatively, for bespoke enquiries, please contact our technical sales team who will be more than happy to assist.
